Thank you notes to HPOU.
January 2010 Thank You Notes
HPOU,
You offered your condolences and it meant so much to us,
It shows how much you care and we were very touched.
Maybe you visited, sent a card or lovely flowers.
All of your prayers comforted us during one of our darkest hours.
We know God is the ultimate comforter,
And he comforted us this time too,
But it still meant a lot to us to hear from you.
So we just want you to know that we will be okay,
We know we can all look forward to a much brighter day.
So thank you all for what you did, it shows that you care;
Just keep praying for us. Please keep us in your prayers.
The Malveaux Family

FAREWELL MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF OF POLICE
I want to extend a thank you to all Houston Police Department employees for your professionalism and hard work during my tenure as Houston's Chief of Police. It was an honor and privilege to work for and serve the citizens of Houston with each of you.
Again, thank you for your dedication and support. Keep up the great work!
Harold L. Hurtt
Chief of Police
Gary Blankinship,
It is with heartfelt gratitude that we thank you for all the effort and concern expressed by yourself on behalf of the Houston Police Officers Union when responding to the shooting of Pasadena Police Officer Ridings.
We cannot sufficiently express our appreciation for your presence at the scene but, also the numerous offers for assistance following the incident. The moral and emotional support that was extended was a great example of the loyalty and brotherhood continuously displayed by your department. It is in times like these when departments come together to demonstrate fellowship and support for one another that these high standards and examples re set.
Your department should be proud of the men and women serving the public. Your efforts will always be appreciated and the Ridings family will never forget the kindness shown by your organization.
Thank you again for demonstrating what a great department you are.
Respectfully,
Pasadena Police Officers Union
To Whom It May Concern:

HPOU,
Thank you for the flowers sent to our dad's funeral. We sincerely appreciate the support following the unexpected sudden loss of our dad, Officer S. W. Orlando.
Your thoughtfulness will always be remembered.
Travis and Cody Orlando
Dear HPOU Family,
The family of Samuel Wayne Orlando want to thank all of you for your sympathy, your thoughts and prayers, and most of all your presence at the funeral.
The Honor Guard ceremony and the Solo Unit escorts were awesome.
We took comfort from the sermon Chaplain Montgomery gave. We just couldn't have asked for a lovelier service and we can't express how much we appreciate Family Assistance. They coordinated all of it and we really needed their help. God bless all of you for your dedication and your service.
Sincerely,
The Orlando Family
Gary,
It was a pleasure meeting you last week in Houston. Thanks much for visiting with Jean Hill and I.
Wishing you and all the members of HPOU a Joyous Holiday Season.

In these challenging economic times, we decided that these two organizations deserve our support and recognition for their consistent fight against Children's Cancer and Breast Cancer. Both organizations are leaders in raising the awareness of the need for ongoing research as well as for the support they provide to those stricken with cancer.
Again, we thank you for your very valued support and we look forward to a very exciting and safe 2010. We would also like to extend to you and your family a very safe, joyous and blessed Holiday Season.
