ATO’s first Coptoberfest was a bubbly success

Tom Kennedy

If you missed the first and hopefully annual ATO Coptobrfest craft beer, chili cookoff and Jeep showoff, there’s always next year.

The Saturday of Oct. 6 was filled with musical sounds of the Phase Down band, which could well have become “the ATO house band.”

The various Jeep clubs from the area showed their support and turned out in big numbers. There were Jeeps in more configurations than one could imagine – from rugged off-road to pretty mall crawlers. They competed in a first-ever contest.

Chili cook teams turned out some wonderful offerings, certainly adding spice to this occasion.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Coptoberfest without craft beer. Special thanks to Gavin Torabi, who made numerous contacts with the local craft breweries and secured numerous selections for the event.

ATO must offer a big thank you to Public Safety Financial Group for their continued support of Assist the Officer Foundation and its fundraising efforts, which extend throughout the year.  The Fest couldn’t take place without the labor of the ATO Board and several HPOU Board members who lent a hand that day.

Next time you’re out enjoying a beer and buying some to safely enjoy at home, remember those who supported ATO during Coptoberfest:
