Luis Menendez-Sierra

Sergeant at Arms

Born in Puerto Rico and raised in New York City before moving to Texas to join HPD. Served in the US Army for three years from 1997 to 2000. Stationed in North Carolina and completed a tour in Bosnia during the Kosovo crisis. Worked for Cablevision as a Construction Supervisor in New York for six years after completing his military term. Graduate of HPD academy class No. 192 in 2007. Worked North Patrol nights where he was a Field Trainer / Evaluator. Transferred to Special Victims (Adult Sex Crimes) in 2014 and then promoted to Sergeant in 2015. Trained at Northeast and then completed a one year rotation at the jail. Spent a few months at Kingwood patrol before transferring to the Special Victims Division where he served over the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Promoted to Lieutenant in 2020 and currently assigned to the CST at NE. Enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Wants to dedicate his time to protecting and representing Officers as they get accustomed to their ever changing responsibilities.
