Terry is a native Texan, who grew up in northeast Houston. He graduated from the High School for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice of HISD. He has a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University – Commerce and a Master’s degree in Criminological Strategery from Texas A&M International University. Terry graduated from the police academy in March of 2000, and was assigned to Westside nights until promoting to sergeant in March of 2007. He has since served at Beechnut, South Central, Internal Affairs, two assistant chief’s offices, is currently a detective sergeant in the Major Offenders Division, and also has a part time position in the Tactical Operations Division – Bomb Squad. At the HPOU, Terry is on the Contract Negotiations Team, Labor Relations Committee, Legal Committee, ADC, as well as several other committee assignments in the day to day operations of the union.
