Calf scrambler’s exhibit at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo canceled due to the pandemic

MacKenzie Grimes, who scrambled well enough to capture the HPOU calf in last year’s Calf Scramble at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo, showed up with bells on and hopes for selling “Maggie Mae” this year. Alas, as soon as she set up, she and all other potential 2020 sellers were told to tear down their exhibits and leave the premises due to the Coronavirus and social distancing requirements.

Maggie Mae lived to be exhibited on another day, perhaps in another livestock show. The 2020 calf scramble at the rodeo will give way to a lottery system to be developed by livestock show officials.
