For the first time in history the back parking lot of the Houston Police Officers Union was converted to a beer garden for the first-ever HPOU Coptoberfest on Oct. 6. Times: 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The celebrative party was designed to imitate the best of the fall October Fests held all over Houston and the state of Texas. It was designed to feature live music, a beer garden (craft beer sampling), food trucks, a chili cookoff and a Jeep show and contest. The later two entailed entry fees that included tickets for judging.
The stated purpose of Coptoberfest “is to have fun together while raising funds for Assist the Officer – Houston.”
Just as an added attraction was the screening of the Texas Aggies football game.
