Dave & Buster’s honors HPD, other law enforcement And their families on special play day on June 16

Dave and Buster’s reached out to Houston area law enforcement personnel and their families to welcome them to a day of fun (Saturday, June 19) to honor them and recognize the sacrifices they make to protect the communities they serve.

HPOU’s Tim Whitaker and Alex Mayo worked with this exciting gaming facility to bring about an exciting day at one of three Dave and Buster’s locations, 6010 Richmond Ave.

“They provided free unliminted game playing and food from a buffet all that day,” Mayo told the Badge & Gun. “You could eat and go out there and play games with the family all day long.”

He said to say it was fun would be an understatement.

A torrential downpour that day didn’t hamper the inside activities but somewhat hampered the HPD displays outside on the parking lot. These included Officer Jason Knox’s fully restored 1990s patrol car and other displays set up by HPD Public Affairs.

Mayo said this was the second year Dave and Buster’s honored law enforcement officers and their families and said this event would be duplicated on an annual basis. Free play and food were extended throughout the day and early evening, he said.
