Aaron J. Suder is the General Counsel of the Houston Police Officers’ Union. Mr. Suder has been a licensed attorney in the State of Texas since 1996 and has been licensed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas since 1998. He received his law degree from the University of Texas Law School in May of 1996 after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas in 1993.

Mr. Suder’s accomplishments in law school included a Dean’s Achievement Award for highest achievement in the study of Texas Criminal Procedure, a Cain Foundation Fellowship, a Dean’s Recognition Award for public service and a judicial internship with the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.

Prior to joining the HPOU Legal Department, Mr. Suder worked as a prosecutor with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, where he gained substantial felony and misdemeanor trial experience, as well as an associate with a boutique civil litigation firm in Houston. Since joining the HPOU legal team in the spring of 2000, Mr. Suder has spent more than two decades successfully representing the interests of Houston police officers in administrative, criminal and civil matters, as well as serving as a member of the HPOU bargaining team for Meet & Confer negotiations with the City.
