Robert A. (Bob) Armbruster is the senior staff counsel of the Houston Police Officers’ Union. Mr. Armbruster was licensed to practice law by the State of Texas in 1993. He graduated from the University of Houston-School of Law in May 1993. Prior to law school he attended the University of Houston-Downtown and graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree, summa cum laude, in Criminal Justice.
Prior to being licensed as an attorney, Mr. Armbruster was a member of the Houston Police Department. He retired in 1993 as a sergeant after serving more than 21 years. During his career he was assigned to patrol at the old Park Place Station, the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Detail, and the Robbery Division. He also served over 10 years on the Hostage Negotiation Team.
Mr. Armbruster is a native Houstonian. He graduated from Ross Sterling High School and then joined the United States Marine Corps. Tours of duty with the Marine Corps included Camp Pendelton, California, Republic of Vietnam and Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C. He and his wife, Judy, have one son, Dominique.
