OPENING

TREASURER’S REPORT

The motion to accept the treasury report was made by Dan Levine, second by Ken Neely, motion carried.

 

COMMUNICATIONS

Kona Ice here today thanks to Tim Whitaker.

Chief wants an average of 1 traffic stop a day in patrol.  Will be looking at it as a group for the next months.

New survey out to North Belt about 12-hour shifts.  Just a survey and will be studied for a while before any implementation.  It was just a survey.

9/11 heroes run coming up soon.

Transformational change in the department has been a topic of conversation and the department is still working on it and gaining feedback from the supervisor class. Commander Garcia is here with his team if you would like to give feedback after the meeting.

There have been changes to the legal plan and TIPP to reflect positive discipline changes in the department and the contract. If anyone would like to see these changes and wants a copy, please contact the HPOU.

Family leave is now active but there are still a lot of questions and HPOU is trying to get answers from the city.  Many people off currently.

There was a family fun day for 300 officers on July 14th to see the Space Cowboys play. Lots of good and bad.  Only 89 people showed out of the 300 that rsvp’d.

All members are FOP.  There was a FOP conference this past weekend.  Lots of good.  Tom Hayes is the state FOP VP.
