COMMUNICATIONS

As of now, we will not have any comments for the Houston Chronicle.  We have had many issues with the media lately and will be pushing back.

City Council and media issues with our ICE “interactions.” We will explain exactly what factually occurs and what we do and do not do to the media and council members.

Several ATO benefits and memorials are coming up as well. Gala is coming up in March.  Looking for sponsors for all events.

Complaints are coming about uniforms.  Chiefs are tired of the lack of consistency in the uniforms.  Wear your hat the right way, clean up your beard.  Wear the approved outer vest and belts, not the ones you purchased yourself.

Shields of Christ Retreat is coming up, get with Sgt. Jesus Robles.  It is FREE.

Joint Christmas Party with OSSO and AAPOL is coming up on December 13th at Pitch 25.

Please give monthly to PAC if you are not already doing so.

Officers in crisis, how can we help? Tell people about the problem. AA meetings have started at the union hall. Officers need help so please reach out to us with any problems.  Get help prior to any incident that may happen.  Money and time are not an issue for HOPA, let them know where they can help.

Please utilize HPOU or City Peer Support when in need.  Everybody is hurting right now, and we all need support.  Continue to help those in need.  We can help officers and their families.

Shut down rumors and get the truth out.

Resources are there to help all around, but we do not know what we are not told so get information out to those that can help.

Remember to sign up for Online ID protection on the 3rd floor.

If you want to submit an article to the Badge & Gun, please email it to Info@HPOU.org and if it chosen you will receive a gift card.

If you want to take pictures with BARC for the PR campaign, then contact the union.
