Tom Kennedy

ALANIZ

Mr. Roberto Alaniz passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.  He is the father of Senior Police Officer Robert Alaniz, assigned to the Special Operations Division.  He was a United States Marine Veteran and a highly decorated Chef.  Services were held Sept. 24 with burial in Houston National Cemetery.

BABINEAUX

Mr. Joseph Kenneth Babineaux passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015.  He is the father of Sergeant John K. Babineaux, assigned to the Special Operations Division. Services were held Oct. 24 with burial in Houston Memorial Gardens.

BAKER

Ana M. Baker, 99, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015.  She is the mother of Sergeant Donald David Baker (Dec.).  Sergeant Baker joined the department on December 29, 1958, and retired on August 1, 1980.  Services were held Sept. 26 with burial in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

BRANFORD

Police Officer Taurean Damond Branford, 32, assigned to the Vehicular Crimes Division, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2015.  Officer Branford joined Police Academy Class No. 194 on August 13, 2007.  Officer Branford is survived by his parents, Daniel Branford and Barbara Branford; his twin brother, Terrell Branford, and brother Myron Branford. Services were held Oct.17 with burial in Houston Memorial Gardens.

BRYANT

Mrs. Evelyn Joyce Bryant passed away on September 20, 2015.  She is the mother of Lieutenant James Bryant, assigned to the Northeast Division, and aunt of Senior Police Officer David Polk, assigned to the Property Room.

Services were held Oct. 3 with burial in Houston Memorial Gardens.

CAHHUON

Meakea Chhuon, 79, passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015.  She is the mother of Car Attendant Bo Nhol, assigned to the Fleet Division. Services were held Oct. 10 with burial in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.

CALHOUN

Mr. William Calhoun passed away on September 23, 2015 in Montgomery, Alabama.  He is the father of Senior Police Telecommunicator LaTonya Bigger, assigned to the Emergency Communications Division.

CANALES

Blanca Lidia Canales passed away on September 16, 2015.  She is the mother of Customer Service Clerk Lorena Canales, assigned to the Auto Dealers Division. Services were held Sept. 19.

CHANG

Mr. Guillermo Chang, 93, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2015. He is the father of Administrative Associate Mary McIntosh, assigned to the Records Division. Services were held Sept. 9.

CHENIER-ROBINSON

Dottie Chenier-Robinson passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2015.  She is the sister of Retired Senior Police Officer Jerry Chenier. Services were held Oct. 24 with burial in Houston Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

CONTRERAS

Frances Contreras, 98, passed away on Friday, September 18, 2015.  She is the mother of Retired Assistant Chief Hiram Contreras, who retired on March 7, 1998. Services were held Sept. 23 with burial in Forest Park Lawndale.

CRAWFORD

Mrs. Patty Jean Crawford, 68, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015.  She is the wife of 49 years to Retired Police Officer Michael Crawford, 68, who passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015.  Michael retired in 1991, and later served as a Detective with the Conroe Police Department.  Michael is survived by daughter, Angela Marie Jones and his twin brother, Retired Senior Police Officer Patrick Crawford, (PD-C). Services for the Crawfords were held Sept. 29 with burial in Forest Park The Woodlands.

 DIETERLE

Desma Nicole Dieterle, 19, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015.  She is the granddaughter of Senior Police Officer Wilbert J. Dieterle, Jr., assigned to the Kingwood Division. Services were held Oct. 15.

ELDER

Retired Office Supervisor Daisy Elder passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015.  She joined the department on April 30, 1969, and retired on February 1, 2003.  She was last assigned to the Burglary and Theft Division.  Services were held Oct. 24 with burial in Paradise North Cemetery.

FINCHER

Retired Sergeant Gerry “Spider” Fincher, 85, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015.  He joined Police Academy Class No. 18 on April 28, 1958.  During his career, he served at the Northeast Division, Northwest Division, Central Division, Training Division and Burglary and Theft Division.  He retired on June 8, 1985.  Gerry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Bertha L. Fincher; children, Michael Wayne Fincher and Cindy Fincher Martindale and niece/daughter, Sarah Lewis.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terry Lynn Fincher Gateley in 2012. Services were held Sept. 23 with burial in Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.

FORTUNE

Retired Police Telecommunicator Supervisor Sheila Jean Fortune passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2015.  She joined the department on July 7, 1978 and retired on May 1, 2000.  She is survived by her children, Calvin, Kalyn and Kacy, and their father, Senior Police Officer James Leonard, assigned to the Clear Lake Division; and grandchildren, Brayden and Drake. Services were held Sept. 20.

FOSTER

Mr. Herbert Ira “Bubba” Foster, 87, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015.  He is the father of Senior Police Officer Mark Foster, assigned to the Air Support Division; father-in-law of Senior Police Chad Stivers, assigned to Burglary and Theft Division; grandfather of Police Officer Paul Foster, assigned to the Tactical Operations-K9, Police Officer Stephen Foster, assigned to North Patrol, Police Officer Chase Stivers, assigned to Northeast Patrol, and Police Officer Randy Williams, assigned to Northwest Patrol.  Mr. Foster was a veteran of the United States Army. Services were held Sept. 22.

GAINER

Retired Precinct 5 Harris County Constable, Sergeant Kennith C. Gainer, 82, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015.  He is the father of Retired Senior Police Officer Clay Morgan Gainer (PD-C).  Private services were held.

GAINEY

Cammie Edward Gainey passed away on Monday, October 5, 2015.  He is the father of Police Cadet Joshua Phillip Hunt, assigned to the Training Division, Cadet Class No. 223. Services were held Oct. 10 with burial in Highlands.

GIBSON

Retired Lieutenant Donald “Hoot” Gibson, Jr., 79, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from Police Academy Class No. 23 on April 18, 1960. He retired while last assigned to the Major Offenders Division in 1984. After he retired from the department, he served with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office as an Investigator. He is the father-in-law of Senior Police Officer Landrum G. Gay, III, assigned to the Westside Division. Lieutenant Gibson is survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Vasicek Gibson; son, Michael David Gibson and wife Ana Collado; daughter, Joan Gay and husband Landrum Gay III; and three grandchildren, Chase Ryan Gay, Connor Riley Gay and Sofia Rachel Gibson. Services were held Oct. 12 with burial in Rosenberg.

Martha Ann Hahn, 76, passed away on Sunday, September 20, 2015.  She is the mother of Sergeant Richard Hahn, assigned to the Special Victims Division.  Services were held Sept. 24.

HESSELDAHL

Dorothy Hesseldahl, 82, passed away.  She is the mother of Sergeant Richard Hesseldahl, assigned to the IFR Division and mother-in-law of Police Officer Jill Hesseldahl, assigned to the South Central Division. Private services were held.

HAYZLETT

Debra Hayzlett, 54, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2015.  She is the sister of Senior Police Officer Carl Sanders, assigned to the Traffic Enforcement Division.  Private services were held in Flemington, New Jersey.

JIMENEZ

Mr. Federico R. Jimenez, Sr., 93, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2015.  He is the father of Retired Senior Police Officer Eduardo Jimenez (PD-A), and grandfather of Police Officer Daniel Antonio Jimenez, assigned to the Southeast Division. Mr. Federico R. Jimenez, Sr. is also the father of Houston Fireman Ciro Jimenez. Services were held Oct. 19.

JOHN-LOUIS

Mr. Maxime “Crown” John-Louis, Jr., 68, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015.  He is the father of Senior Police Officer Jerrod John-Louis assigned to the Narcotics Division. Services were held Oct. 3 with burial in Lafayette, Louisiana.

LEIJA

Mr. John Michael Leija passed away on September 18, 2015.  He is the brother of Police Officer Stephen Leija assigned to the Eastside Division, Cousin of Senior Police Officer Mark Leija, Central Division, Retired Senior Police Officer Gilbert Flores (dec.), Marshal Division, and Retired Jail Attendant Adam Leija, and nephew of Retired Captain Ephirne Leija (dec.). Services were held Sept. 24.

LOUIS

Mr. Maxime J. Louis, 68, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015.  He is the father of Senior Police Officer Jerrod John-Louis, assigned to the Narcotics Division. Services were held Oct. 3 with burial in Lafayette, Louisiana.

MILLIGAN

Retired United States Army Sergeant Timothy Brian Milligan passed away on September 28, 2015.  He is the son of Sergeant David Milligan, assigned to the Internal Affairs Division.  Timothy first served in the United States Navy as a Navy Corpsman.  He later served in the United States Army as a Calvary Scout Sniper.  While in the United States Army he completed multiple tours in Iraq and was wounded in battle during his last deployment. Tim is preceded in death by his sister, Leanne Milligan.  He is survived by his parents, David and Denise Milligan; and siblings, Adrienne Webb, Laurie Leiser, Aaron Milligan and Warren Milligan. Services were held Oct. 10.

MUESCHKE

Harris County Sheriffs’ Department Reserve Lieutenant Herman W. Mueschke Jr.(89) passed away September 17, 2015. Lt. Mueschke began his law enforcement career in 1946 with the Harris County Sheriffs’ Office. Herman wore many hats during his life including that of a Deputy United States Marshal here in the Southern District of Texas. Herman served in WWII and was recently recognized by Congressman Ted Poe of Texas for his courageous service to our country. Herman is believed to be the only person in the history of the Houston Police Department to carry police credentials as Armorer for the Houston Police Department and assisted the department on numerous tactical operations.  As a law enforcement officer, firearms armorer, firearms tactical instructor, and tactical gunsmith. Herman served  numerous law enforcement agencies, including The United States Marshals’ Service, The FBI, The United States Secret Service, ATF, DEA, The Texas Rangers, The Texas Department of Public Safety, Houston Police Department, Harris County Sheriffs’ Department and numerous other law enforcement agencies. Herman was the owner of Mueschke Mfg. and held many Patents on tactical firearms and tactical conversion items for law enforcement. Herman was a mentor and friend to all who carried a badge and was always there to serve his fellow officers.  Services were held Sept. 22 with burial in Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

PINION

Mrs. Loretta Mary Pinion, 91, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2015.  She is the mother of Sergeant James K. Pinion, assigned to the Kingwood Division.  Services were held Oct. 22.

RODRIQUEZ

Mr. Lupe Rodriguez passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015.  He is the father of Sergeant Joel Rodriguez, assigned to the Air Support Division. Services were held Sept. 30 with burial in Sugar Land.

SHIELDS

Josephine Shields, 86, passed away on September 21, 2015.  She is the mother of Sergeant Loretta Petitt, assigned to the South Gessner Division.  Services were held Sept. 24 with burial in Houston Memorial Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shields Sr. and son Michael Shields.  She is also survived by her children, Van Shields, Robert Shields Jr., Randy Shields, Don Shields, Kenneth Shields, Evonia Dunlap and Lisa Sanders.

TURNER

Mrs. Arlesia Turner, 80, passed away on October 16, 2015.  She is the mother of Senior Police Officer Howard Turner, assigned to the Internal Affairs Division. Services were held Oct. 21 with burial in Houston National Cemetery.

VILLERREAL

Retired Senior Police Officer Martin Villarreal passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.  He joined Police Academy Class No. 56 on August 21, 1972, and entered DCO on August 21, 2010. He was last assigned to the Training Division.  He is the brother-in-law of Retired Sergeant Alfonso Baker (PD-C), whose son is Police Officer James Baker assigned to the Westside Division.  Officer Villarreal is survived by his wife, Hilda Villarreal. Services were held Sept. 27 with burial in Forest Park Westheimer.

WARE

Mrs. Lillian Roberta Ware, 88, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.  She is the mother of Data Entry Operator Brandi Cheyan Ware, assigned to the Auto Theft Division. Services were held Oct. 24 with burial in Greenville, Florida.

WILSON

Sergeant Richard Vernon Wilson, assigned to the Central Division, passed away on Tuesday, October 13, 2015.  He joined Police Academy Class No. 130 on July 22, 1985.  Sergeant Wilson is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ann Wilson. Services were held Oct. 19.
