BAKER

Retired Senior Police Officer Samuel A. Baker passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019, at the age of 69. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan R. Baker. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Senior Police Officer Samuel A. Baker joined the Houston Police Department on January 19, 1976, Academy Class No. 73. During his whole career with the department, he was assigned to the Northeast Division until his retirement on July 2, 2004. Services were held August 22 with burial in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.


BRUMLEY

Retired Senior Clerk Mary “Sally” Brumley passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019, at the age of 74. She joined the Houston Police Department on July 7, 1982, as a Clerk I. During her career with the department, she was assigned to the Juvenile Division, Psychological Services, and the Training Division, retiring on January 1, 2003. She is the wife of Kenneth Brumley, who retired as a Police Officer on September 4, 1990. Kenneth Brumley re-joined the department on September 5, 1990, as a Personnel Assistant, and retired as a Human Resources Specialist on January 1, 2005, out of the Records Division. Services were held August 22 in Spearman, Texas.


BUITRON

Mr. Felix Buitron, Sr. passed away on Monday, July 22, 2019, at the age of 88. He is the father of Senior Microcomputer Analyst Felix Buitron, Jr., assigned the Office of Technology Services. Services were held July 27.


CARAWAY

Mr. Vernon G. Carraway passed away on Friday, July 19, 2019, at the age of 79. He is the father of Police Officer Patrick B. ­­Carraway, assigned to the Downtown Division. Services were held August 3 with burial in Paradise Cemetery South.


DORSEY

Retired Sergeant Willie Dorsey, Jr. passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019, at the age of 71. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He joined the Houston Police Department on May 23, 1977, Academy Class No. 78. During his career with the department, he was assigned to the Northwest, Vice, and North Divisions. Sergeant Dorsey retired on March 8, 2008. Services were held August 22 with burial in Paradise North Cemetery.


LE

Mr. Quay Van Le passed away Sunday, August 18, 2019, at the age of 89. He is the father of Administrative Associate Phuong M. Le, assigned to the Records Division. Services were held in Saigon, Vietnam on August 28.


LEDET

Mr. Joseph Norris Ledet Sr. passed away Friday, August 2, 2019, at the age of 80.  He is the father of Sergeant Joseph N. Ledet Jr., assigned to the Downtown Division. He is also the cousin of Senior Police Officer David L. Polk, assigned to the Property Division. Services were held August 10 with burial in Brookside Memorial Park.


LEWIS

Ms. Ruby Doris Lewis passed away Friday, August 16, 2019, at the age of 54.  She is the mother of Huma­­­n Resources Technician Nacole Bradford, assigned to the Employee Services Division. Services were held August 31 with burial in Houston Memorial Gardens.


MALVEAUX

Retired Fixed Asset Manager George Malveaux passed away on Sunday, July 28, 2019, at the age of 67. He is survived by his wife, Katherine Malveaux. He joined the Houston Police Department as a Data Entry Operator on April 6, 1993. During his career with the department, he was assigned to the Records Division and the Office of Budget and Finance. Fixed Asset Manager Malveaux retired on July 31, 2010. Burial was in Houston National Cemetery.


MOORE

Mrs. Bernadine Z. Moore passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at the age of 72. She is the mother of Senior Police Officer Jonathan B. Moore, assigned to the Central Division. Services were held July 29 with burial in Woodlawn Garden of Memories.


TURBEVILLE

Mrs. Sula “Sue” Turbeville passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019, at the age of 91. She is the wife of Retired Police Officer Forrest W. Turbeville, who retired on March 9, 1978. Services were held August 28 with burial in Klein Memorial Park.


TYLER

Mrs. Barbara Ann Tyler passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019, at the age of 82. She was preceded in death by her husband, Retired Police Officer Elmer C. Tyler, who passed away on December 19, 2016. Services were held June 25 with burial in Brookside Memorial Park.
