The Houston Police Officers Union named narcotics officer Robert Morales the HPOU Investigator of the Month at the October general membership meeting.
Morales, who serves on general narcotics squad No. 15, “displayed the highest level of dedication and commitment to duty while conducting several long-term investigations,” according to Narcotics Sgt. D. C. Bounds.
Bounds said Morales spent countless hours conducting roving and fixed surveillance, identifying targets and relentlessly searching databases to connect the dots.
As a result, the sergeant said Morales “completed several investigations that yielded a seizure of 16 pounds of marijuana, five kilograms of crystal methamphetamines, U. S. currency and a substantial quantity of other illegal narcotics.
Sgt. Bounds said, “This work proved valuable in gathering a high level of useful intelligence and will greatly assist in the dismantling and disruption of drug trafficking organizations.
“Officer Morales performed on this level while remaining readily available to assist his squad mates in surveillance of other suspects, along with helping in the completion of their investigations.
“Officer Morales maintains a strong relationship with his peers and is a valuable leader on his squad.”
